Women Build 2022

 Together, We'll Break the Bias

Since 1992, Habitat South Sarasota has been breaking biases to empower women in creating a gender-equal world that is diverse, equitable and inclusive. Women Build is an opportunity for all genders to come together to build stronger, safer communities. Spend time working alongside other volunteers, Habitat partner families and staff as you build a home that will be purchased with an affordable mortgage by an income-qualified family. You'll have fun learning new skills at this gender-inclusive event. With the need for safe and stable housing greater than it has ever been, Women Build brings people together to address our community's affordable housing crisis by providing the tools, skills and opportunity to make an impact.

No Experience Necessary

No experience is necessary to build with Women Build. Volunteers work under the guidance of construction professionals alongside other volunteers and future Habitat homeowners. Whether you are learning new skills or simply adding a few to your tool belt, this is a rewarding experience for all involved and improves the community that you share.

Bring your company, team, or organization together to empower women to change their communities through Women Build 2022. No experience is necessary. We'll give you the tools, skills, and guidance you and your team need to make an impact! 

Important Women Build Details

Instead of holding Women Build as a one-week event, we are opening up participation for Women Build to March through October 2022. This gives us the ability to better plan for job site opportunities to guarantee a great experience and more flexibility for you.

Once you are properly registered, our team will be in touch with you to go over the next steps, safety training, and your participation details. You will have the ability to build in teams of four and help to build various houses currently under construction. We will make sure that you have a great experience! 

We ask that you remain flexible, as each house under construction is in a different stage of completion and opportunities to work at job sites depend on many factors, some outside of our control such as availability of supplies and the weather, to name a few.

We know how important our partnership with you is and want the community to see the good work done by forming a partnership with you. We'll give you the tools, skills, and guidance you and your team need to make an impact!
